Main Street U.S.A. Historical Dedication Plaques
As part of Disneyland's 70th Anniversary celebration, I served as the Lead Environmental Graphic Designer for a series of historical dedication plaques installed throughout Main Street, U.S.A. Inspired by the fictional New Century Historical Society, the project was designed to deepen guests' appreciation for the rich history, craftsmanship, and storytelling behind many of Main Street's iconic landmarks and architectural details.
From concept development through final installation, I collaborated with WDI historians, Show Producers, and production partners to design a cohesive family of interpretive plaques that seamlessly integrated into the existing environment. The work included layout design, typography, material selection, fabrication documentation, and production oversight to ensure each plaque felt authentic to the turn of the century aesthetic while remaining durable for long term outdoor use.
The finished installations invite guests to slow down, discover hidden stories, and experience Main Street, U.S.A. through a new historical lens, reinforcing Disneyland's legacy of immersive storytelling while celebrating 70 years of the Happiest Place on Earth.
